Cool Frogs Early Childhood Education is a long day care located in the picturise location in Littlehampton, South Australia. The centre offers care for children aged 6 weeks to School age and has a focus on play-based learning and child-led exploration.

Littlehampton has spacious outdoor play areas with various equipment for children to explore, including sandpits,swings,climbing frames, and natural play spaces. The centre also has an indoor play area with various toys and resources to support children's learning and development.

Cool Frogs Littlehampton features a dedicated kindergarten building.

The centre's curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and aims to support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The centre's educators work closely with families to develop individualised learning plans for each child, considering their interests, strengths, and needs.

Our Rooms

  • Baby Room - 6 weeks to 18 months

    Our Baby room is a designated space caring for children from six weeks up to 18 months. All our children are cared for by trained childcare professionals who form a relationship with your children and your family. The Baby room is a secure, bright and welcoming environment with a large open space that offers a range of activities suitable for babies and infants. The room is equipped with age-appropriate toys, cots, play mats, and other necessary equipment to ensure the safety and comfort of your child. The daily routine of a baby room consists of following your home routine or helping you develop a routine. All your child's routine activities are recorded in a communication book you can take home. All your child's dietary needs are met in consultation with you. We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages early skills development and lays a strong foundation for future learning and development.

  • Junior Toddlers - 18 months to 24 months

    Our Junior toddler room cares for children who are between 1-2 years of age. The focus of this room is on nurturing the children's cognitive, physical and socio-emotional development through play-based learning activities and social interactions. The Junior toddler room environment is designed to be safe, stimulating and comfortable. This includes low furniture and ample space for exploration and movement. The Junior toddler room is also organised into various play areas, such as a reading corner, dramatic play, sensory exploration and gross motor activities. In the Junior toddler room, educators provide individual attention and support to each child's needs. The room also creates a routine that includes structured/ unstructured playtime, educational activities, storytime, outdoor play, music and movement. The curriculum is centred around building basic skills and fostering socialisation. This includes cultivating early language, communication skills, encouraging social play, cooperation and promoting independence in self-help skills. Overall we provides a loving and playful environment that helps children develop a love for learning and prepares them for their next stage of development, moving to the Toddler Room.

  • Toddlers - 2 years to 3 years

    Our Toddler room is for children two years to 3 years of age. We have an environment that is set up to meet the unique learning needs of toddlers, with activities and equipment that promote their physical, emotional, social, cognitive and language development. The Toddler room is divided into several areas: a reading corner, a play area for imaginative play and a sensory area. The reading corner is filled with age-appropriate books and specifically selected to aid language development. The play environment consists of educational toys such as puzzles, blocks and other hands-on activities that inspire creative thinking. The sensory area includes items that use texture, sound, and smell to stimulate the senses, such as sand/ water tables, musical instruments and bubbles. Finally, the rest area provides a comfortable spot where children can rest or sleep after lunch The Toddler room is supervised by qualified educators who facilitate the learning process through interactive activities and play-based methods. The Educators also work with parents to ensure each child receives individual attention and care, including when it is time to transition from nappies to the toilet. Our goal in the Toddler room is to create a warm, nurturing environment where children can explore, learn and make new discoveries while developing self-confidence, independence, and social skills.

  • Junior Kindergarten - 3 years to 4 years

    Our Jr Kindy Room is for children 3 years to 4 years of age The Jr Kindy room has been created to provide a safe and stimulating environment by offering two levels of play space for the children as they begin to develop new skills and explore the world around them. The Curriculum and play-based activities focus on developing social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills. Other activities may also include art and craft, music and movement, outdoor play, storytelling, and small group activities to help build language and communication. Learning through play is an essential part of learning at this age. The Children will be encouraged to explore new materials and toys, take turns, and share. Play-based learning also helps develop important skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking. The Jr Kindy room is the final stage before entering our Kindergarten room to begin their next chapter in learning and development.

  • Kindergarten - 4 years to school age

    Our Kindergarten room for children four years to school aged play a crucial role in preparing children for school readiness. The Kindy room is designed to where children learn and explore through play, develop their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills, and build a solid foundation for further education. The Kindergarten is well equipped with appropriate resources that stimulate the child's imagination, creativity and excitement for learning. The Furniture is child-sized and arranged in such a way that promotes exploration and discovery. Our kindergarten, teachers provide a range of activities, materials, and experiences that are developmentally appropriate and aligned with the national curriculum (ELYF). The activities promote the development of essential skills, such as literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, critical thinking, vocabulary, and communication. Furthermore, the kindergarten room is inclusive, welcoming all children, regardless of their background, abilities, or needs. Our Teachers create an environment that is respectful and sensitive to children's cultural diversity and individual differences. As we provide a high-quality kindergarten program, we feel our children are better prepared for primary school challenges and have a positive attitude towards lifelong learning. Through play-based learning and meaningful experiences, children will develop a love for learning that will serve them well in their future academic and personal endeavours.
